Lauren Owen, ‘Varney – the Forgotten Vampire’

Possibly the ancestor of ‘the sympathetic vampire’ who features in present-day paranormal romance, the nineteenth-century Varney the Vampire, serialised by Malcolm Rymer, is not perhaps as well known as he should be.
