If you are interested in Gothic Studies and the culture of the Undead; in studying narratives of vampires, werewolves, dark fairies, and witches, or in the fantastic genres of Gothic and Paranormal Romance, then consider the University of Hertfordshire. There are a variety of Gothic literature courses: a BA module on YA Gothic, a Gothic MA module on vampire literature, and opportunities to research Gothic literature at PhD level. The research from the OGOM Project has fed into teaching at all levels in the Department of English Literature.
Generation Dead: Young Adult Fiction and the Gothic
An undergraduate BA module on the English Literature course where students can study the Gothic mode as it appears in contemporary Young Adult fiction.
Reading the Vampire: Science, Sexuality and Alterity in Modern Culture
An online postgraduate MA study module on the Modern Literary Cultures course which traces and analyses the literary incarnations of the vampire. This can also be taken as a standalone course.
